Recieved delivery of our new 2017 open range in April. Lay out was perfect center island, fire place.

29/30 ft rear bedroom. Used it for one week in July and then in August. Opened slide with refrigerator and black mold from one end of the camper to the other. Brought it back to dealer and still have not received it back with repairs.

They said they will replace cabinet and all flooring. Mold in pantry and cabinet on the side of couch. The smell was disgusting. Now they say the floor won’t be in for 3 more weeks because they Highland Ridge was bought out by Jayco.

Now it as been sitting for 3 months, we lost all that time from camping.

Paying loan on something I believe that can’t be fixed. Anybody have suggestions on what to do next?

Ok well here we are again. I am so happy I have a very smart husband because, he was able to make all the repairs so far.

The list is very long and actually it is in better shape now than when we bought it.The beginning; Water Pump. Two things about this, they have put the pump in a very inconvenient location. We believe they had put in an used water pump. From the first time out in it until two years ago we had problems with the water pump.

So we bought a new water pump put it in two years ago and now the thing works the way it should.The jack stand on the left hand side broke so my husband had to go and buy parts to fix that. The electrical converter went out we replaced that. The back window leaked and ruined the whole back end of the wall, insulation, electrical connections, the gasket they use to seal the window was not placed on it properly so there is a whole new back end. Flooring, wall, insulation gasket for window all brand new now.Our window in the entry door blew out.

Literally shattered. The shower hose was broke, the handle that is by the entry door when you go into the door broke off the handle. Our skylight in our shower leaked we had to fix that. We had to go under the trailer and seal up many gaps that were missed on the assembly line.

So we had mice but that did not last long because we fixed that. The number two slide quit working. The water heater switch went out.So I feel when people talk about their open range, we paid alot of money for ours also.

As I stated my husband can fix anything and thankfully he has. So many issues for a beautiful camper.We are talking about trading ours in for a new one but actually, ours is new.


I've been dealing with their waiting game for the past 9 months. My RV has been in repair and no parts have shipped.

I've identified some major defects with the floor and lack of support or more like no support was installed when building this one. So now the floor is soft in two of the major wall ways of the upper deck and they want the service guys to fix it. But they don't know the part numbers, they don't have the parts and now they want me to let them take my RV back to the factory so they can look at it.

All I want is a new RV. So now I'm about to see a lawyer to file a law suit against them.

both jayco and this company need to have a class action lawsuit filed against them these campers they build are massed produced and are JUNK I have a 2017 O.R. LIGHT with a host of problems I cant get fixed. good luck
