I bought a 201* *** light and the only problem that I had was a slide motor that went out but I think that I had closed the slide to tight to many times. Other than that I have had no trouble with it.

I am very pleased with mine, sorry to about all of your problems. God Bless

I would not have excepted it if it didn't meet your expectations. I own same trailer and had them do some things before I picked it up. Most everything else has worked great, just got home from a 1,700 mile journey.

we bought an open range 272rls last year. what a pile of ***. EVERY time we go camping, I have to take it back to the RV dealer for warranty work.Water leaks, problems with the slide, problems with the awning. Its laughable, except the joke is on me!

201* 316 RLS...Company said "Not Our Problem"

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bought New 316 RLS in 2013...Have had the same issues with the leak around the bathroom skylight. I found the leak and had it fixed, I was advised by the dealer that I was 6 weeks past my warranty date and that I would have to pay. I thought that was *** but I paid anyway. One year later the front exterior wall is starting to de-laminate, I understood that the roof had a 5 year warranty. However the roof checked as fine. They did find where the seal around the top of the roof is bad, and water is getting inside at that point when I asked about warranty consideration I was advised that the seal had a 6 month warranty!! I was directed to the Regional Service Manager he advised I was out of luck. He stated that when the company was bought in 2014, they did not have any prior liability responsibilities. In other words, If you bought the unit before they bought the company, THEY DON"T CARE....He did offer to pay for the caulking, what an insult!! Then advised if I wanted to drag to Indiana (from Oklahoma) he would TRY to get a discount on the work, again, what an insult....I'm now out $1700.00 to make my 3 yr old trailer look right.....Do your self a favor and DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

To follow up on this I have had my insurance company out to look at it and much to my surprise wouldn't cover it. So now the trailer sets.

I cannot open the bedroom slide at all now in fears it will fall out. I have even called a dealer to get a replacement floor price...

Original review Mar 21, 2016
I bought this trailer new and has been used very little. I had to take it back to the dealer to fix the leaks in windows & loose screws & all the bottom trim molding.

They said everything was fixed, NOT! Still had water leaks in windows and when I called and told the manager that worked on it he said he forgot to do them & they had already kept it over a month and I needed it for work so I did not take it back to them. However, I had asked the company that worked on the floors if they could fix the leaks and was told they couldn't because it wasn't on the work order. So I told them that the new floor would be damaged if not fixed and it didn't matter.
So far I have had to have all the slide floors replaced & that was just a year ago and now I have to have the main and bedroom slides replaced again.

Now the issue is warranty!!!

What a Joke. My comfort level with any company qualified to work on open range is to a point that I now know I will have to fix it from now on.

Bought a brand new open range traveller in July 2015. So far one window assembly needs to be replaced.

The furnace blower blew and my pipes froze and are now broken. The fridge died and needs to be replaced. The thermostat does not control central air properly and radio does not keep the time. The bluetooth connection does not work and the *** furrion tv set has terrible volume and can't be heard over the furnace.

The cosmetics are nice but if u look close enough it's all ***. And as someone else said. Oven range stickers are peeling off and fan over range has already been replaced. The lcd lights that came with the awning were partially burned out.

The dealership I bought if from is doing their best but they're not magicians. I could not find a toll free number for open range and when I did contact then they could care less.

One gentleman did call me back but was not too helpful with my issue of condensation in my tipouts.

They changed their name to Highland RV to try and avoid lawsuits. Would love to get a class action suit against them and force them to fix or replace our RVs or force them out of business

Horrible company, good luck. best bet is to trade in for a more well known quality camper. Open Ranges look nice as you stated, but they are truly cheap garbage.

More trouble, electric hot water heater not working and gas part makes loud intermittent sounds. Cabinet in bathroom has disconnected from wall, just top part, whole cabinet held with 4 small screws.

I have not ever had more than 10 lbs of stuff in it.

Curtain rods falling out now, same type of screws, just screwed into thin wall, no wood. Can't wait to get back to McClains to show them this, more $$$.

Original review Jan 05, 2016
I have had the open range fifth wheel RV, one of the deluxe models that cost $65,000. This was the biggest waste of my money in my whole life that I've spent. The Coach had problems when I first brought it home and they were problems from the factory they reversed the polarity on the electrical system brought it back got that fixed took about two months. When I finally got that fixed and took it on a trip seven windows were leaking all over the place, the front bedroom window leaked all over the furniture, caused bubbling in the cheap laminate cardboard "wood". Got it back to the dealer, McClain's in Rockwall. It took them over four months to fix it, so in the first year it was in the shop about six months out of the year. I bought the full warranty they sold me, but for some reason there was questions on whether they would repair the windows, they finally did repair the windows and now I'm on another trip and another window is leaking again. The microwave has also stopped working. Every time I take this coach on a trip something major breaks or happens. I also took it to the dealership to have regular maintenance, sealing, and I've inspected it and none of the work was actually done the seals are still the old seals. Around the front of the coach there is some type of siding that covers up the seal that is now coming loose and cracking and rusting. On my second trip the whole 50 inch TV fell out of the wall and tore everything loose and busted. The couch is not attached to the floor and they refused to do it for me, and that also bounces around down the road. The air conditioning units in the coach are so loud you have to wear air plugs to get any sleep. Right now I would just like to unload it, but it such a trashy camper I don't know who would buy it and give me half the money I have in it. Open Range RV is a cheap trailer and they try to sell it to you as a very well-made and assembled coach. It is not. Also, the curtain rods are coming out of the walls they are screwed in to thin cheap material. I would never recommend this company to anyone purchasing an RV. Oh, One last thing, the island that came with the coach the cheap wheels have already fallen off and it is wobbly and Needs to be replaced.

What is your model? All products have a lemon.

You apparently got one. Our 2009 open range 385rls is wonderful.great floor plan quality build super amenities with king bed. We installed a new a/c by choice and had no problem getting it covered.

This Open Rane 2009 5th wheel is our best best and we have purchased 5 other rv's in 10 years so we have comparisons. Sorry to hear you got the lemon.

Great Customer service from Highland ridge/Open Range Rv

Just got home April 8th from a three month trip though mainland Mexico in our Open Range LT216RBS. At about one month into the trip our kitchen slide began making a strange sound while being used. It didn't take long to realize the gearbox was self destructing. I called our OR dealer and they agreed that the gearbox was bad and directed us to call the factory. I called the factory and explained the situation and was transferred to a warranty representative. Rodney was extremely helpful and after a couple more phone calls Rodney had a new gearbox shipped to the UPS office in Cancun, Mexico. It was shipped from Indiana on a Thursday afternoon and arrived at the Cancun UPS on Friday evening. Now that is some GREAT service. I picked it up on the following Monday and installed it the next day myself. Thanks so much to Rodney and all the great folks at Open Range for all their assistance.

Don't trust this company. I bought a new fifth wheel that leaked water into most all of the slides (black mold everywhere) after about a year of trying to resolve the issue they "Conveniently" changed there name from open range Rv to highland ridge Rv nto avoid lawsuits and beat myself and others out of our money. Terrible company.

You are all *** First off Open Range did not change their name, they still operate under the name Open Range. Jayco bought them out because of their quality and opened up Highland Ridge as the manufacture.

Do a google search for Open Range, you will still find them being sold as Open Range. Secondly if you really paid $57000 for a travel trailer, I have some ocean front property in Nebraska for you. It's real cheap!!

This all shows your intelligence and true knowledge of the RV industry.

Probably anonymous because either your with highland ridge or you bought a camper from open range and you haven't had any problems yet. You probably don't want the name ruined because you know you can't sell it for anything and you still want everyone in the campgrounds to look at it and say " oh that's a nice Rv" lol what a joke!

If they screwed me they will *** too! Just give them a chance

Layan Eoj

Terrible company is correct, you can bet Highland will be just as horrible!!

I have a 2014 Journeyer with the same problems. It has been in for repairs 5 times and now my floor in front of the entrance doorway has *** They refuse to help me.

They are selling lemons!

$57,000 for a lemon. We would like to file suit against the company.

Good luck in a lawsuit unless you bought the Rv after they closed down " open range Rv " and reopened under the highland ridge Rv name I would love to see these people crumble.

2011 Open Range RV BHS 303

I, too, am a pissed off customer with my 2011 Open Range RV BHS 303. Like many other customers, I have the same complaints.

Personally, I feel it’s too new of a product to be experiencing so many problems so soon. I can’t get any help from the dealership or manufacturer as both are pointing the finger at each other. No help.

Really at a loss for words. At this point, I'm in if anyone wants to start a class action law suit against Highland Ridge.

Unfortunately you would need 100's of personnel with the same issues for any lawyer to take this as a Class Action ... best you can do is try to take them to small claims court which allows up to $5000 in most states ...

or to try to repair it the best you can in order to sell it to someone else .. BUT you need to make sure that you are upfront with the people you are selling it to otherwise they can come after you for fraud ... kinda funny though ..

they can come after you for fraud ..BUT you can't go after the manufacturer for the same ... sorry to hear of your troubles ...

Guest

I am Pissed off too, my slide out floors are rotting , plus a long list of other problems, Open Range do not care, I am in with a class action law suit if one starts, I have over 11k in floor repairs plus the other stuff I am waiting on quotes for.

Open Range Rv - Rv Review from Yonkers, New York

Bought a 2011 Open Range Roamer in 2012. It has been NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. 1. Grey water tank leaks 2. Buckling in the body panels resulting in broken body trim seals...water leaks in 3. Living room floor falling out at exterior of slide out wall 4 BBQ grill cant be used because the quick connect gas lines leak when connected 5 Front door wont shut in wet or cold weather unless you slam it 6 windows leak to interior as the seals are *** 7 entertainment center in living room buckled the floor in the corner of the slide out 8 The converter is going out and has never been over loaded 9 Called Open Range and they said basically tough ***. They have no intentions of making good on their *** product nor does the dealer in Casper Wyoming(Sonny's RV) So if you are looking for a RV, DONT BUY A OPEN RANGE OF ANY KIND AND DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM SONNY'S RV IN CASPER, WYOMING. THEY ARE BOTH *** BUSINESSES TO DEAL WITH

We bought a brand new 2012 open range rover 303BHS – I do not have the time or ambition to list all of the problems – I will just say that I wish I had never stopped at the Del sold Tom Raper dealership in London Ohio and had never seen any open range junk. I am 60, and I don't care if someone wants to sue me over my comments.

I would actually enjoy that.

I would not buy an open range fire extinguisher if my hair was on fire. Everyone who has complaints about open range on this site is absolutely 100% believable.

I almost died! 11-15-2015

My 2015 open range light bunkhouse had an electrical fire.

The motor to the electric jack was on fire catching the plastic propane tank cover and all electrical connections toast . If I had not forgotten that I left ice in my truck and came out when I did... I would have been dead a minute later from the propane tanks exploding.

Please look into this it is very dangerous.

My insurance is looking into this issue.

"I Hope"

I was not impressed by the service or help I have received from Crestview RV in Buda Texas. I had spent most of the next day trying to contact them sending them photos and asking for any help whatsoever. I had bought a five year extended "service" plan and gap coverage. I've only had this trailer for six months.

It is untowable

I'm even afraid to even get it fixed!

What's to say this malfunction won't happen again? I have two young boys. I can handle my own... please be aware of the situation.
